Have you been to Lisbon? No? Well put it on your list, baby. This city has all the charm you can imagine. It has surely become one of our favorite cities in Europe. From the uber nice people with that Portuguese sass, you’ll experience a vibe you haven’t before.
On our second day in Lisbon we took a food tour with Taste of Lisboa. I have to say that it was truly a learning experience in a fun way. I mean, it’s always fun when food is involved, right? Our tour guide Madalena was so sweet and informative, I just wanted to put her in my pocket! It was an experience I’ll never forget. Our walking food tour took us to 6 locations but certainly included more than 6 different tastings.
Some tips for the tour: dress comfortably and come with an empty stomach!
We also took a tour with We Hate Tourism Tours which was a unique experience. Our tour guide Marcos had me jaw dropping all night. With his energetic, opinionated, yet informative food tour, we couldn’t stop laughing! I loved this tour mainly because it was so different than any other tour we’ve done and we got to meet some awesome travelers as well!
Lisbon is known for their egg tarts, or pastel de nata. The recipe dates back to the 16th century when it was made by nuns in convents. The best places to find them are Manteigaria & Antiga Confeitaria de Belém.
Some tips for travelers to Lisbon:
- Wear comfy shoes, as it is very hilly.
- Uber is available, and it’s very reasonably priced.
- LX Factory is a must. An area full of art and hipster vibes.
- Visit Time Out Market for stalls of delicious food. There are even Michelin star chefs serving amazing dishes.
Happy travels! And let me know if you have any questions!
